I can't believe it has been so long since I posted. I have been busy, feeling uncreative and trying to improve my cuticles (to no avail). I have a lot of new colors to show you and I hope to very soon. You'll have to pardon my destroyed cuticles, though :( Have a great weekend!

When I bought Brazen's Glam loose glitter, I didn't have specific plans for it, but when I saw my bottle of CoverGirl's Rose Coral I had to mix them. I may need to add more of the glitter, but I like it so far. The main mani doesn't seem to show enough glitter.
Here is a closeup of the mani color...
There is a ton of glitter in the bottle, but it doesn't translate on the nail, so I will add more.
And I decided to do polka dots with this on top of Julep's Amy. They are super messy. My hands were not steady and I was just doing a quick job, but here it is :)

Rose Coral was part of CoverGirl's Boundless Color line. I picked mine up for $1 at Big Lots and I am so glad I did. I have been searching for a coral that works with my skin tones and this is perfect! It is probably the rose part adding that extra pink that makes it work so well. This is a creme polish and it goes on smooth in two coats. Shown below in three coats. I wear this one a lot.
Coming up next... a franken made with this.

I debated if I should write about 9/11 and, if so, what to say. I have decided to write just a little bit of my thoughts. September of 2001 was a life changing month for me, but not (just) because of the terrorist attacks. Early in the month, I tore my Anterior Cruciate Ligament [ACL]. The one in the middle...
This began an extremely painful and long journey for me. I had to wait a few weeks before I could have surgery. So, 9/11 fell in the middle of this ACL adventure. I was at work and a co-worker had heard on some news station about the first plane hitting. I pulled up CNN on my computer to see what he was talking about. It was just crazy. Then the second hit and everyone was stunned. This wasn't just some idiot that got too close to a building. We went to a co-workers office who had a TV and watched for who knows how long. It was a very surreal day.
I was heart-broken for the people who suffered that day and for the families that lost loved ones. I did not, however, jump on the bandwagon for the "war on terror". I do not believe that you can solve problems of hate and violence WITH hate and violence. Yes, we need to defend ourselves, but how far do you push it past that? And as horrible as the events of that day were, I was/am also saddened by ALL the innocent lives lost: lives lost in the war on terror on all sides, lives lost in countries we don't pay enough attention to and people living in the middle of violence while we enjoy the freedoms we have been blessed with. I wish for unity and peace all over the world.
That all said, I wasn't planning on anything special manicure-wise for this day. I had mixed the Liberty loose glitter from Brazen Cosmetics (post here) and was thinking I could pull it back out around Independence Day, but that is a long time away from now. I decided the name of the glitter was quite fitting for this day and the wishes I have for liberty for all people.
lib·er·ty[lib-er-tee] Show IPA
noun, plural -ties.
freedom from arbitrary or despotic government or control.
freedom from external or foreign rule; independence.
freedom from control, interference, obligation, restriction, hampering conditions, etc.; power or right of doing, thinking, speaking, etc., according to choice.
freedom from captivity, confinement, or physical restraint:The prisoner soon regained his liberty.
I almost feel crummy tying that all in to show you a swatch of this franken top coat glitter, but here it is. Liberty is red, silver and blue glitter. I didn't want to add it to a color, but I wanted to be able to use it for layering. I added a ton of the glitter to a Wet'n'Wild fast dry top coat that I did not like. It settles, so I have to shake it every time I go to use it.
I painted my nails in Zoya - Sooki, Sally Hansen - Naturel White, Rimmel London - Midnight Blue (too dark of a blue for this) and Wet'n'Wild - Black Creme. Then I added two coats of my Liberty top coat franken. I think it could use more glitter/more coats.
A closeup look at the glitter on the blue...
I hope you don't mind that I mixed serious with light-hearted today. I didn't want to get too heavy or disrespect the day. Thank you for reading and practice peace!

Hello. I have another Heartsy - deal to show you. I paid $12 for $35 worth of products from Brazen Cosmetics. I was primarily tempted by one item in particular, but after finding a few others, I decided to get it. You'll see the red tickets - there is a monthly drawing and for every item you buy, you'll get a red ticket and an entry into the drawing. Kind of a fun bonus.
The haul unwrapped...
From left to right and top to bottom: Air Kisses (loose glitter), Shimmy (lip gloss), Glam (loose glitter), Courtesan (mineral eye shadow), Liberty (loose glitter) and Yummy Gummies (lip scrub).
Lip scrub- this smells sooooo good! And tastes sweet, too.
Samples of mineral eye shadow in Tremor and Innuendo...
This is what made me want this deal :) Amore lickable perfume. It is chocolate cherry scented YUM!
I have a couple frankens I made from some of the loose glitters and I will be posting those soon :)
Thanks for reading!
